"Queen of California" Acoustic Video

via People.com:

Prior to being silenced by the return of a throat granuloma, John Mayer recorded an acoustic performance of “Queen of California” – and PEOPLE.com has a first look.

The studio version of the tune is the second single off of Born and Raised, the musician’s chart-topping fifth album.

"Being able to have a hopeful vibe about something again … it’s actually about getting over stuff," Mayer, 34, recently told NPR of the song. "Which is why I think it’s the first track on the record. It’s a very relieving breath of fresh air."

A video for “Queen of California” was shot recently in Los Angeles and will premiere in July.

The wonderful Greg Leisz recording his pedal steel performance at the end of Queen of California. We only ended up using flourishes of his playing in the final track but all of it was spectacular and deserves to be heard… One of the very few unseen videos from the recording of Born and Raised.
